Meet Zoë Thiel, LMSW, Texas Therapist
Zoë Thiel is a Licensed Master Social Worker in Texas, practicing under the clinical supervision of Kelsey Blahnik, LCSW-S.
She works with teens and young adults with OCD and anxiety, including clients whose OCD shows up around food, eating, and their bodies.
Zoë sees clients online anywhere in Texas. Starting December 2026, she will also see clients in person at our Southwest Austin office on Highway 71, an easy drive from Dripping Springs.
Outside the therapy room, Zoë is happiest with a dog nearby and art supplies within reach.
Zoë’s Approach to Therapy
OCD is very good at making uncertainty feel like an emergency.
Zoë helps clients stop negotiating with that alarm and start living by what matters to them.
She is trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD.
She is also trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT).
Sessions are practical and collaborative. Clients practice new responses in real life, at a pace that is hard and doable.
Zoë has a particular interest in where OCD and eating disorders overlap. That includes intrusive thoughts about food or contamination, rigid rules around eating, checking, and body-focused compulsions, and the constant “what if” that can drive both.
Untangling what OCD is and what is disordered eating changes the treatment plan, so she takes that question seriously.
She coordinates with medical providers and dietitians when a client needs a team.
Zoë works with teens and with their families. Parents often get pulled into reassurance and accommodation without realizing it.
She helps families support a teen without feeding the cycle. Her approach is trauma-informed and EMDR-informed, so she pays attention to how past experiences shape what’s happening now.
